They’re all growns up and they’re all growns up and they’re all growns up. Nashville boys COIN first caught our ear back in 2013 when we had our first ever TMD live show. Since then they’ve signed a big boy record deal, melted faces across the country and are about to head out on tour with Grizfolk. Things are looking up. Any time I get new music from COIN I know I’m in for a treat and ‘Run’does not disappoint. They’re brand of swirling pop is just what I need today.

Pro tip: when you see them live, be sure to watch Ryan Winnen on the drums. Aside from being incredibly talented, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a drummer have more fun up there on stage.

The boys from Nashville have struck again! COIN rocked our faces last year when we had them play our debut live show and they ran away with everyone’s hearts. Then, they went back to work on their album and….school. Homeboys gotta finish up their learnin’ too! Well we couldn’t be more stoked on these guys and I’m pretty confident they’ve got some BIG things ahead. If you’re in Austin next week, you can catch them at our showcase: The Green Room. Happy Thanksgiving from our favorite dudes from Nashville, COIN! They’ve given us an early little nugget of deliciousness in the form of an awesome cover of Simon & Garfunkel‘s Cecilia. The first time they played NYC at the Knit, they played this little gem and the crowd went wild. It was only a matter of time until they released it for those who could not be there to experience it live. Well here are. Enjoy it in all its glory, hombres.

We must have done something right this weekend. Because the internets gave us a beatiful gift to get us through this dark and dreary Monday. NEW COIN music. That’s quite alright with me. If you’re a TMD regular, you know we’re pretty high on the handsome boys from Nashville (not like that). We had the pleasure of hosting their NYC live debut back in August and they basically stole the show. Just when I think you couldn’t possibly be any DUMBER…. you go and do something like this…. AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!

So the hits just keep on coming this CMJ. After you drink a couple coconut waters and crush a bacon egg and cheese on Wednesday morning, start pre-gaming for our 2nd CMJ showcase. If you think we’re letting up after our blowout on Tuesday, think again. We’ve got another killer lineup for you. Going down at our favorite repurposed parking garage turned bowling alley, Brooklyn Bowl.This time we’re lending a helping hand to our bros over at All Things Go. Well if this isn’t some perfect timing then I don’t quite know what is. COIN, aka our favorite dudes from Nashville just released their newest single, ‘Atlas’ and I love it. As soon as the drums hit, you know you’re in for some serious pop bliss. I heard it a while back and thought it quickly went on rotation here at headquarters. And wouldn’t you know it, they’re playing their New York City debut THIS weekend in Brooklyn along side Cardiknox, Badboxes and Cruiser. Funny how things work out some times huh? Go get your tickets.

Not gonna lie, I’m pretty excited to announce that our Brooklyn live series debut will be on Saturday, August 10th at Knitting Factory. I’ve been smiling for three straight weeks as we’ve been putting this show together for you. It embodies everything we’re about here at TMD. Wonderful people, amazing experiences and the discovery of incredible indie pop music.

First up is Cruiser from Philly. Their high energy indie rock was on steady rotation at TMD HQ after a gracious introduction from Boise’s best Noah Hyde. This was one of my favorite remixes of 2012.

Next…Badboxes from Pittsburgh. When we saw them at Tammany Hall on the 12^th it was clear that their flair for northern electro falsetto would earn them another NYC bid very soon, and we’re proud to be the ones extending it.

The momentum behind Nashville’s COIN is fierce right now. I believe, when introducing their single and video for Honey last month, we ended our blog post with an open invitation to show these guys around NYC. So, this is literally a dream come true.

And finally the President and First Lady of the East Village, Cardiknox. When we heard from them earlier this year, it was clear they were well on their way to a major headline gig. Check!

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got Dart Party, in his DJ Set debut, spinning all night between sets.

[VIDEO] COIN – Honey

COIN is four 21 year old bros from Nashville who make bangin music, self described as “swirly indie party-pop”. This video for their single Honey premiered yesterday and is already causing quite a stir among the blogarazzi. They certainly convinced me. HAVING FUN IN NASHVILLE: You know Nashville’s a weird place. We bee-keep. No, just kidding. There’s this coffee shop called Frothy Monkey that we all hang out at constantly. It’s like the Central Perk on Friends. We play catch a lot. There’s nothing really specific to Nashville that’s really fun. There’s no nightlife that we really enjoy or any specific hobbies that we really enjoy. We just play catch and a lot of music.
