Earlier this year we featured the debut single by Anglo-French duo, Loframes and now after a few months of radio silence they’re back with both a 2nd single, a cover of The Paradise’s ‘In Love With You’ and a remix of British singer David Harks’ new release. Whilst not as overtly poppy as their debut, ‘In Love With You’ still manages to provide some much needed sunshine this December.

Meanwhile their remix of David Harks’”Tripping Ghosts” (see yesterday’s post) sees the original’s melancholy downtempo electronic transformed into a dark yet sparkling House number. Just 2 singles down and Loframes are making a strong case to be one of 2016’s must see acts.

David Harks returns in the final throws of 2015 with a subdued soulful electronic offering, somewhat of a departure from his colorful entrance in 2014, which TMD kept a close eye on supporting his first EP release LOMO. This time he is back with a collaboration alongside Bristolian soundtrack composer Dan Berridge. Wanting to tackle a personal issue he was taken with, the songs motive is underpinned by his own isolation, “The message felt so strong…I couldn’t find a way to create a sound that supported the feelings, I had connected with Dan on a few previous soundtrack scores, it was such a seamless creative process, he brought the depth electronically that the song needed in my opinion.”

Supported by an anthemic and tasteful juxtaposition LOFRAMES supply the glistening remix, bringing the originals dusty electronica feel out onto the dance floor.

File this under David Harks: front man, visionary and now label boss. Our interest was piqued when we first heard rumblings of Alaska Wilson from David a few months ago and I’m here to tell you, the juice was worth the squeeze. The hypnotic synths are just what the doctor ordered. Harks’ JumJum Records is quickly making name for itself in pushing the envelope. From the little we know of Alaska’s, one thing that we do know is he currently resides in Dangriga on the coast of Belize. His fresh outlook has brought us this classic retrospective anthem.

We first introduced you to David Harks back last year when we first heard Odyssey in the back of the Lovelife tour sprinter. Now the Brighton, UK based singer is back with the fourth and final installment to complete his debut ‘Lomo’ EP which is out today. ‘Odyssey’ rounds out what has been a magnificent journey of introspective exploration and pushing boundaries musically. In what may be arguably the EP’s strongest effort, we get a slow burner that reminds us why we fell in love with David Harks in the first place. The song is effortlessly cool, but intricately delicate and deliberate. Typically, writers tend to try and compare new music to old music because it’s easy and familiar. In this case, I’m sorry but I can’t do that for you. Because what David Harks is doing is completely original and extremely exciting. From the soulful lyrics and driving groove, it’s all love. So to compare it to something else would be doing it a disservice. Instead, take a listen and appreciate David Harks for David Harks. And spread the love.

Be sure to stream the entire EP on Spotify or purchase it on iTunes

Brighton UK based David Harks are back, as promised, with their third of four singles this summer. Open Arms reaches into the realms of Balearic where sermon samples from a 10 year-old Cayman Islands based Preacher wrap delicate steel drum melodies and run in creative contrast to David Harks‘ strong lyrical message. This tune could not come at a more opportune time. With summer in full swing and the days at their longest, this is built for the beaches of Ibiza (or Montauk or Venice for that matter). Just let the steel drums take controld and whisk you away into the throws of summer vibes.
