They also send the best emails in the business. It’s very apparent that they have a real passion for what they’re creating and they’re also having the time of their god damn lives doing it. This is the first track of of Goldroom’s most recent mixtape and it is mind blowing. It comes to us from Australian-based, Touch Sensitive. It’s just brilliant. I cannot stop listening to it. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the full release and now it’s finally here. I can’t wait to drive along the coast listening to this tune. Never a better time than now or 1987.

So the homies Alex & Drew who are the geniuses behind The Chainsmokers were kind enough to send their track our way and we immediately fell in love. The Chainsmokers are no strangers to TMD as we fell in love with their remix of Jonsi’s ‘Around Us’ back in January. So needless to say I was thrilled to see this one. And these are two guys that are approaching things the right way. Check out their backstory for how this remix came to be:

‘Overdose came about cause we heard Little Daylight’s song at a party & we looked them up and shot them an email & were thrilled when they were into the idea as they were looking for someone to do a more up-tempo remix. So we thought about it & wanted to make the song very warm and with uplifting chords and chop the vocal up a bit and we’ve been really into this indie progressive mesh of sound that drops but is more animated. Then we thought instead of the usual house structure we would do something a bit funkier and keep the song evolving as it unfolds, so it starts out a bit simple with the vocals bleeding in over some warm drums but then end in this entirely different place’

And that’s seriously what it’s all about. Bravo boys.

Satin Jackets – You Make Me Feel Good (Deep Mix)

OK, guys. We’re here to talk about something a little different. I’ve been cheating on electro with deep house. Hear me out. Deep House is making a strong bid right now. All the kids are saying trap this nu disco that – bro, have you heard about deep house? Everyone is claiming everything is going to be the next big genre. It’s a bit of a bright spot for electronic music right now. It’s also a bit ridiculous. After years spent in obscurity with her UFO pants – she’s coming out to the dance floor and taking over. Now we’ve got sub-genres for days. Every new day – a new sub-genre. Chillwave, summerwave, nu-disco, deep house, trap (I hate trap), daytime disco, lo fi, glo fi. Put two words together that involve disco or wave and you just got your own genre. Many of these genres will come and go. Nu-disco will stick, as will deep house – it’s actually been around for a lot longer than you think – since the 80’s actually. It just wasn’t “cool” until now. There’s a lot of bad deep house out there. But there’s some good stuff out there too. Today let’s talk deep house. Satin Jackets happen to be making some really exceptional deep house right now and they’re no stranger to TMD. We actually posted the original version of this track back in October. But this deep mix is awesome too.
