Fans of the British electronica trio NERO have been waiting patiently for like 4 odd years now… They aren’t the most public of bands (a la Brand New – who also don’t make albums or do anything nice for their f-ing loyal fans!!), & they’ve been driving their fans crazy not coming out with new stuff or even really doing interviews (they’ve mentioned they “finished” the newest album, but nothing more…). And bc of this, I don’t really know anything else, besides, that they have a Grammy, and like, that this song’s pretty dope and they wear cool funky glasses/eye coverers like real futuristic artsy euro folk.

Getting Familiar With Jaymes Young

I’m totally zoned in right now. I know absolutely nothing about Jaymes Young. But here’s what I’ll say: if Michael Buble and The Weeknd spent a crazy weekend in South Beach and things got out of hand the product would be Jaymes Young. It’s a mind meltingly delicious blend of R&B, electro and dubstep. I cannot really even place it yet. But I cannot get enough of it right now.

What’s even more impressive is his cover of Haddaway’s ‘What Is Love’, which you may remember from A Night At The Roxbury. Who knew Haddaway had such emotional lyrics?? It’s dark, but it’s just too good. You’ve gotta check this out.

Not that you follow me on twitter. But if you did, you’d know that yesterday I asked my 4 followers, when would dubstep be over? The reason I ask is because dubstep is just terrible. I’m pretty open to new music. And I do not get dubstep. You know why? Cause it sucks. There. I said it. If I wanted to hear two robots trying to kill one another, I’d go watch Transformers with Shia Labouf. But this remix from Sound Remedy is dubstep – done correctly. Tastefully even. Just a light wobble and wiggle here and there. That’s all you need. Thank you Sound Remedy for bringing it back to basics. Well done.

Kill Paris – Keep You Secrets In Midnight City

Just when you thought it was safe to call it a day with the remixes to M83’s Midnight City, it’s not. But it’s tough to even call this a remix. Really, it’s more of a sample. And a tasteful one at that. Kill Paris first came onto my radar a couple weeks ago with his uber catchy “Shades of Funk”. This keeps things going. Definitely give him a listen. Worthy of a couple minutes.
