Seems fitting that on the exact one year anniversary of our first TMD show that Gold Fields would have just released an amazing remix of the ever talented Zella Day. In case you haven’t connected the dots. It was a Gold Fields DJ set that kicked off the TMD series of shows and here we are. That night they brought the deep house heat and here, they take a little pivot with this nu disco take on Zella’s track. I’m digging it quite a bit. Enjoy.

TMD’s events arm is up and running and we’re kicking things off with a bang. TMD Presents: Gold Fields DJ set at Lilium on May 9th. Here’s the deal: Gold Fields is coming to town with LVLF and Capital Cities for their Dancing with Strangers tour earlier that evening at Irving Plaza. You should be going. Then after the show, we’re headed around the corner to Lilium in the W Hotel Union Sq where we will be hosting the after party.

Gold Fields’ tour with Capital Cities kicks off tonight in Phoenix. I don’t know about you, but we’re pretty psyched for their May 9th show in NYC. Plus, we’re hosting a pretty special aftershow that night for these dudes. The official announcement is imminent, so stay tuned. Yo, apologies all around. I consider myself a Grouplove fan (been to 4 or 5 shows blah blah blah) but I had no fukin idea. I scoffed earlier this week when a friend mentioned that Grouplove was out booking DJ sets. “Na, seriously, the drummer has his shit together.” he said. Ryan Rabin, im sorry for doubting you dude. Your Captain Cuts side project has officially piqued my interest.

Our love affair with Gold Fields continues. This time, we get our rocks off with the help of Diamond Rings. Pardon the pun. The two teamed up for the increasingly popular ‘remix-for-a-remix’ approach. It’s really quite similar to the old adage “You scratch my back, I scratch yours.” Two bands come together, collaborate and reinterpret. Everybody wins. The results in this case are nothing short of stunning. I particularly love what Gold Fields did with this Diamond Rings track. Check it out.

So Gold Fields played Saturday night with Ghost Beach and St. Lucia at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in what many have deemed the show of the year. If we’re being honest with each other, the only band I wasn’t totally familiar with was Gold Fields. Well not any more. I’m loving this track, and you will too if you don’t already.
