For me, it comes with the welcomed excuse to move a little slower and take a little longer. When it rains, the rush of NYC eases-up a bit… bad weather is the best reason to be five minutes late for that meeting you were itching for an excuse to miss, anyways. And when you actually do things you set out for the day, like I will hit the gym before meeting friends for drinks, you feel 700% more accomplished – because you did it without using the weather as an excuse.

But better than that all, it makes listening to down-tempo, lovesick songs feel good. At the risk of sounding dramatic, this “Bad Intentions” remix was made for how I am feeling today. The beat is smooth, the vocals are pure and the lyrics – you guessed it – are brilliant. Niykee Heaton is more than a songstress… she is a writer. And from one writer to another, her words are downright inspiring. She reveals deep wounds and secrets that completely captivate me because truthfully, her stories are so damn relatable.
