So Strange Talk is now a DJ/Producer duo that only deals in deep dime club sesh tracks. That’s really all you need to know. This first single is everything I love about EDM and nothing I hate. Man…I wish I wrote it!

We’re long Strange Talk here at TMD. We’ve had the honor of having them play two shows for us, one here in NYC for CMJ and our blowout SXSW showcase back in March. I’ve got to say not only are they an amazingly talented and professional group but they’re also downright awesome people. It seems that the rest of the world is starting to figure out what we’ve known all along: that Strange Talk is here to stay. Their blend of electro, rock and pop is undeniably delicious. This song is like a welcome ear worm that will wiggle it’s way into your head and good luck getting it out. Song of the summer? Check.

Side note, we rarely post videos here, but this one is quite awesome. It’s a bit like a mini-film. I’m particularly fond of the extremely creepy Eyes Wide Shut-esque ending. Enjoy.

Strange Talk has been hustling hard lately and i’m making the call that 2014 will be their year. The recorded tracks are amazing (especially Young Hearts), but the live set is really where its at. Keep an eye out for their SXSW show announcements. Rumor has it they will be turning heads down in Austin again this year. Is it a fetish, is it an obsession, who knows? All I know is that I feel like the holidays came early this year. Cut Copy and Strange Talk are touring around the US, and I keep stumbling over great new tracks put out by Aussie bands. This one comes to us by way of Perth. Sun City has created an awesome downbeat dance tune for us. I can’t help but get caught up in Colour Blind‘s, almost tropical, groove. Anyone looking the window of my apartment right now must be confused. Pregnant lady asleep on the couch and strange man dancing around, headphones on, with his laptop. Such is life…

The Magic doesn’t stop there though. It turns out that Sun City can turn out a great remix, just listen to what they’ve done to Pigeon‘s Curtain Call. If the name Pigeon sounds familiar that’s because it’s the main band of Danny Harley, the man behind TMD fave, Kite String Tangle. This song just bleeds a solo dance in the middle of a circle of people on the dance floor. I can’t stop baby!

And I have just one more for you. All We See is another exuberant dance track and one that I could not, in good conscience, leave off of this post. Dance away people, I don’t want to be the only one!

It’s beens many moons since we heard from Aussie synth poppers, Strange Talk. Today we get a taste of what they’ve been up to via a remix they’ve cut for Mr. Little Jeans – a TMD rookie, but make no mistake, she’s massive in her own right. It’s a match made in synthesizer heaven as the driving synths and bass will carry you through the morning. Enjoy.
