Tear Council is a project headed by Matt Van Schie. In 2009 Matt teamed up with Michael Di Francesco aka Touch Sensitive to write ‘Journey’, a single from his ‘Balmy Nights’ EP. This was the beginning of Tear Council, an outlet for Matt’s more emotional outpourings. Now the journey continues with ‘Anywhere’, once again co written with Michael. You can be sure this will be going in on my DJ sets. It’s just so good.

Touch Sensitive & Wave Racer @ Glasslands This Saturday 3/22

So I realize that we truly are some lucky people. We, the people of New York City because we get spoiled every week with the best in music. This weekend in no exception, as we get graced with the original Pizza Guy himself, Touch Sensitive and his fellow Aussie, Wave Racer. Now I had the pleasure of catching both of their sets at our epic four day run of shows last week at SXSW at our showcase The Green Room. All I can tell you was there was a full blown on stage dance party for Touch’s set and Wave Racer straight up blew up two fuses cause the sound was so amazing and thunderous. I fully expect the outcome this Saturday at Glasslands. Playing host, are the fine gentlemen at Powerslug. Be sure to cop your tickets before they’re gone. Tim’s Essential Tracks of 2013

So that was 2013 huh? Pretty solid year. I’ve been working on this list all year. Full disclosure, if you’re looking for the obvious “Best of 2013″ list, this is not for you. This is more about the tracks that might have slipped through the cracks, the tracks that never quite got the attention they deserved. Some of them are more obvious than others (read: Daft Punk). While others, need to be heard (read: Streets of Laredo).

How do you boil down a year to 15 songs? In my case, you don’t. You make a soundcloud best of and a Spotify Best of list. We had a banner year personally, professionally and musically. A lot of firsts that I am extremely thankful for. Rather than sit here and wax poetic on what was definitely the best year of my life, why don’t you just sit back and listen to these tunes that helped make 2013 so special?

Touch Sensitive – Pizza Guy

This is the first track of of Goldroom’s most recent mixtape and it is mind blowing. It comes to us from Australian-based, Touch Sensitive. It’s just brilliant. I cannot stop listening to it. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the full release and now it’s finally here. I can’t wait to drive along the coast listening to this tune. Never a better time than now or 1987.
