There’s just too much good music going on right now. I’m all kinds of jacked up about this month’s mixtape. If you were worried about me dropping a surprise mixtape last week, fear not. This one might just be better. Last week I was reallly feeling the horizontal disco vibe. This week, we’re all about that nu-disco state of mind. The lead track really sets the tone for the rest of the mixtape. We’re still all about summer and now we’re trying to get that weekend dance party started a day early. I hope you enjoy this one, it was really fun to make.

Olympic Ayres – Girl

Six days ago our very own Molly posted a sweet song off of Olympic Ayres’ upcoming EP, Episode iii. Needless to say all of us here at TMD enjoyed Magic and have been eagerly anticipating the rest of the release. We are happy to bring you the news that if you can’t wait another day to get your sticky little fingers on Episode iii, you don’t have because it’s here! I was psyched to find that this EP was available yesterday when I opened Spotify. The other two tracks (beside the earlier released Magic), Orchid and Girl, pack quite a one-two punch. Orchid is a velvety, downbeat track with smooth vocals that provides a nice contrast to the others. The last track, Girl, is more of a fun dance-y jam that’ll have you bobbing your head at your desk or better yet in the sun, if you’ve managed to escape outdoors. Whatever your particular locale, this EP is a must listen for those smooth tunes for summer days.

Oh hell yes, new Olympic Ayres song! This is the first single off their upcoming EP, Episode III, which I am stoked for. The View turned my winter into a summer (or at least made the obnoxiously long winter bearable), and this track continues the funky, tropical legend. I’m expecting a lot from the Sydney duo, especially with Magic living up to its name. The whole EP is set for a July 31st release (Magic? Harry Potter’s birthday? That can’t be coincidence…), and look out for remixes from Luke Million, Pharoa Black Magic, and TMD favorites Night Drive.
