Public Access TV-In Love and Alone
Public Access TV are grit, guitars, leather jackets, cigarettes, and rock and roll. Lead singer John Eatherly and his band mates have had quite the whirlwind year. Hailing from downtown NYC, this 4-piece became known as the band who lost their apartment to the gas explosion that rocked the East Village back in March. Becoming homeless while on tour on the opposite side of the country could derail some bands, but PATV (in true New York fashion) dug deep and threw themselves into more touring and making new music. In May they released their 5 song EP titled Public Access. To promote Public Access, they toured the US supporting British rock bands Gang of Four and Palma Violets. They also played a slew of summer festivals in Europe and opened for The Strokes, to whom they’ve drawn many comparisons. They also just completed a month long run with Hinds on a portion of their North American tour.
With their debut album slated to be released in early 2016, the band has just posted a new song, “In Love and Alone” + an accompanying video. This is the B-side to their previously recently released single, “Patti Peru.” Both are currently available via Terrible Records. The video below shows the band gallivanting around the East Village–grabbing food, shooting some pool, and drinking beers in dimly lit bars–just a typical night out with the pals. The song is rambunctious, loud, full of guitars, and showcases Eatherly singing about a love gone wrong in his signature growl. Definitely get yourself acquainted with PATV now, and be prepared to watch them really take off in the new year.
